Q: Where exactly does my $10.80 go?
A: $10.00 goes directly onto a "Power Voucher" for a Yargo Elementary School student. The remaining $0.80 covers the Georgia sales tax at the fair. Our goal is 100% Buying Power—meaning the student walks up to the register and owes $0.00 out of pocket for any item or items that add up to $10.
Q: The “donate here” buttons aren’t working. What do I do?
A: The web address for our Zeffy Donation Portal is https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/yargo-book-fair-pilot . You can Navigate there by copying and pasting or typing that address into your address bar.
Also we need all the feedback we can get, so please help us work out the kinks by emailing us directly at info@afairforall.org to let us know you’re having trouble with our site.
Q: Why Zeffy? Why not any other payment processing platform?
A: Zeffy is the only current platform that is FREE for payers and payees. They don’t charge any transaction fees for credit cards or otherwise. They themselves are a nonprofit, and they operate exclusively through optional donations.
Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?
A: Not yet. We are currently in our "Pilot Phase" and are working toward our official 501(c)(3) status. While we haven't applied for federal tax-exempt status yet, we operate with 100% transparency and accountability. Your gift today is a direct investment in a child’s joy.
Q: What is a "Homeroom Hero"?
A: A Homeroom Hero is a donor (individual or business) who sponsors an entire classroom (~22 students) for $237.60. This "Hero Level" gift ensures that every single student in that specific class experiences the dignity of choice and the magic of the book fair together.
Q: How do you handle the money?
A: All funds are held in a dedicated business account for A Fair for All, Inc. Zeffy provides a live "Mission Status Tracker" on our campaign page so you can see exactly how many students have been sponsored in real-time.
Q: What if you reach the goal for the upcoming Campaign? Where will my money go if I still want to donate?
A: This is our favorite question! If we fully fund one grade level at Yargo, any additional "overflow" funds will be restricted to our "Forward-Ho! Fund." These monies will be used in one of only two ways -
Emergency Fair “Floating": Ensure we have a reserve for any new students who enroll at the school between now and the end of Fair Week.
Scale the Mission: Secure the "Power Vouchers" for the next grade level, the next Yargo Book Fair and the next Barrow County School. (And Beyond!)
Our promise: Your generosity will never "sit idle." It will always be put to work creating the 'Best Day of School' for a student.
